The Hill Country brings visitors from around the country to experience the beauty and culture of Texas, and one of the top destinations is the Germanic town of Fredericksburg, known for it’s wine and giant rock! There’s much, much more to do here in Fredericksburg, from amazing museums to the incredible nature of the Hill Country!

National Museum of the Pacific War Located in Downtown Fredericksburg, plan to spend at least a half a day to see this huge museum!
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area On every Texan and Visitor to Texas’ Bucket List is a hike to the Summit of E-Rock! There is also a nice, 4-mile Loop Trail, camping and rock climbing offered in this very popular park. Reservations are strongly encouraged! The name comes from the heating of the rock on hot summer days, and a rumbling sound when it cools at night. Star Parties are often held during the Summer, when the Milky Way is the most visible.
Downtown Fredericksburg Many Girl’s Trips are taken in Fredericksburg, and the quaint Downtown area is filled with boutiques and cute shops!
Wildseed Farms Not just a big nursery, they also offer walking trails and a butterfly garden, a must during peak wildflower season, and a cute gift shop, restaurant and winery!
Cross Mountain Park FREE. More of a hill with a cross at the top, it’s a pleasant walk to the top!
Fort Martin Scott and the Texas Rangers Heritage Center Walk through history in the old buildings at the Fort.
Old Tunnel State Park Bat Cave From May to October you can visit to watch the emergence of Mexican Freetail Bats each evening.

Eat
Altstadt Brewery Enjoy a German meal in their incredible biergarten, listen to live music or tour the brewery! Don’t miss one of their terrific pretzels and beer cheese, although everything is wonderful on the menu! The schwarzbier braised beef with honey-roasted carrots is my favorite!
Otto’s German Bistro An upscale German restaurant, using locally sourced produce and meats.
Opa’s Smoked Meats We carry an ice chest with us on trips to Fredericksburg just for Opa’s! They don’t have a dine in area, but do sell sandwiches and salads to go!
Sunset Grill The place to eat breakfast and brunch in Fredericksburg, my kids also love the burgers!
Woerner Warehouse Everything is delicious at this great restaurant set in an old feed store.
Farm Haus Bistro You’ll fall in love with this beautiful setting out on a farm, they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.
West End Pizza Company My daughter’s favorite pizza restaurant in the whole state! We can’t drive near Fredericksburg without stopping here!
