Just as in year’s past, Panther Island Pavilion will be one of the coolest places to be this Summer during Sunday Fundays! Beginning June 28th and running through Labor Day Weekend, Sunday Fundays are all about fun for the whole family, with activities on the beach, in the water, food trucks and much more!
It’s a great way to forget the stress of the week as you lay back and float your cares away! There is a designated part of the Trinity River that is just open to tubes for floating.
Panther Island Pavilion, the beach and event site is maintained by the Trinity River Vision.

Panther Island Pavilion consist of a sandy beach on the Trinity River, so bring your sand toys! There are usually a few corn hole boards, giant jenga boards, free yoga classes and live music. Alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as food, are sold from the food trucks.
Bring your own chairs, or towels to lay out on in the sand.

Sunday Fundays are from 12 – 6pm, and admission to Panther Island Pavilion, as well as parking, is FREE!
You can bring your own tubes, floats, kayaks, etc. or tubes are $5, and pedal boats are $20/hour. Tubes are required to stay in the sectioned off area of Sunday Funday in the Trinity River. Backwoods Paddlesports, which operates a full time kayak and paddleboard stand at the park, will also be renting kayaks and paddleboards. Kayaks and Paddleboards are welcome to go out and explore along the river, which you should do, it’s gorgeous!
It’s okay to go crazy with your floats, too! Bring that giant flamingo, alligator or whale.
Outside food and alcohol are a no-no.
Children 12 and under are required to wear a life jacket, and children under 30″ are not allowed in the water.
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome.
There are porta-potties and a shower.

Panther Island sits along the Trinity Trails, so bring your bikes or scooters for a morning ride or walk before Sunday Funday! There are usually rent-a-bikes available, also.
Make a Day Of It!
Grab dinner at Joe T. Garcia’s or one of the restaurants in the Stockyards, and then head over to the Coyote Drive In to watch a movie under the stars!
