Rockport is a fun little beach town, just minutes North of Port Aransas, on Aransas Bay! It’s quiet beaches on the bay, with small waves and shallow water make it a perfect destination for families with young children!
The Rockport City owned beach is open 7 days a week, from 6am until 11pm, and midnight on Saturday night! For a small admission, $5/vehicle, you can choose from over 60 picnic tables along the beach, or walk the 2 mile beach walking trail! During our last visit there were kayak rentals in the bay, live music on the weekends, and much more!
Know Before You Go
No driving on the beach.
No dogs, no glass.
Wear water shoes, there is a little bit of seagrass growing at the edge of the water.
There are a couple of playgrounds located along the beach.
Salt Water Pool
The Salt Water Pool is a fun alternative to the beach, too!
Rockport Aquarium
*** Sadly, the Aquarium was destroyed during Hurricane Harvey. Please visit their website for construction updates. *** One of our favorite things is the Rockport Aquarium, located just outside of the Rockport Beach! It’s a fun little aquarium, it’s FREE, and it’s pup-friendly, too! Click HERE to read more!
