Rooftop Cinema Club at the Worthington Renaissance Hotel, Fort Worth

We had such a wonderful evening at the Rooftop Cinema Club watching a holiday favorite movie, Elf! Rooftop Cinema just opened in October, and it’s one of their 8 locations around the country, and the second Texas location is in Houston. Sitting atop the Worthington Renaissance Hotel, the city of Fort Worth makes a beautiful backdrop!

Know Before You Go:

Buy your tickets online.

Parking is located off Throckmorton across from Jimmy John’s. It’s $17/car, but they will validate it at the theater for $7 off, so it’s $10. Don’t forget to take your parking ticket with you when you go upstairs.

Seating is first come, so arrive early especially if you’re in a big group. Our friends arrived a few minutes before us, and were able to save our chairs next to them.

We reserved the 2-person Adirondack loveseat. It was pretty cozy.

Entrance to the theater is off Throckmorton, almost next to the guest parking garage.

Dress and prepare for the weather. Bring blankets.

I had purchased 3 tickets for us and my son, but realized the day before that since the tickets were after 5, it is 18+

Food and drinks were pricey. We bought tickets with popcorn, and then some chips and brisket queso and a couple of drinks. You’ll receive 10% off your meal at Toro Toro down in the hotel with your movie ticket, but we didn’t think ahead to make a reservation. That’s too bad because their filet looked amazing!

If you’re making a weekend of it, the Worthington Renaissance Hotel is pretty amazing. It’s just a block to walk to Sundance Square, which is what we did afterwards to see the Christmas Tree! It was a pretty wonderful date night.

We arrived an hour before the movie started, plenty of time to grab great seats, food, drinks and our popcorn and headset. We also got in a couple of good games of ping-pong and a first for me, rock’em sock’em robot. My husband was dismayed that I had never played, and trust me, he won every game!

There was a birthday party while we were there, and I thought what a great location for party! They had these really cute little light-up lightbulb shaped cups that they brought with them. Adorable! I purchased some for my upcoming son’s birthday party. I am an Amazon Affiliate and do receive a small commission if you purchase using my link. Gotta keep the lights on.

Our friends looking pretty cute and cozy. I, on the other hand, carried up 4 blankets and looked more like I was on my way to do laundry than a really romantic date night. Still, as the sun went down it was chilly, and I was glad we had them!
