If you love a good patio restaurant, San Antonio is King in Texas! Not only on the riverwalk, but throughout the city, many restaurants and of course their guest have embraced outdoor dining year round, a saving grace during this time of Covid! In fact, there are so many great patios that it was hard to limit it to just these, but here you go!

The Friendly Spot Ice House 943 S. Alamo St., San Antonio This will take you back to when ice houses dotted the roads of Texas. In addition to cold beer, they have snacks, burgers and chicken sandwiches, tacos and even ice cream! It’s a fun spot for the whole family!
Dog Friendly = Yes!
Blue Star Brewing, 1414 S. Alamo St. This fun brewery, the anchor of the Blue Star Arts Complex, has an elevated patio with a great menu and sits right off the Mission Reach of the Riverwalk. Bring your bike or rent one at the bike kiosk for a leisurely bike ride along the river, or down S. Alamo, then enjoy the patio afterwards!
Cappy’s Restaurant, 5011 Broadway One of the Lawton Family Restaurants, this long-standing Alamo Heights institutions in San Antonio is a must visit! Try the Mustang Chicken with a horseradish crust is one of their signature dishes, and absolutely wonderful! The patio is open with reservations only.
Dog Friendly = Yes!
Boiler House Texas Grill and Wine Bar, Pearl Brewery @ 312 Pearl Pkwy, San Antonio Four words, Whiskey Bacon Caramel Corn. It’s an appetizer and absolutely as good as it sounds! All the food here is incredible, and while the patio isn’t my favorite, you’re at the Pearl which is just where you probably want to be, especially for their amazing weekend brunch!
Dog Friendly = Yes
Fralo’s Art of Pizza, 23651 West I-10, San Antonio If you love pizza, an incredible patio, and live music, then this is your next dining destination in San Antonio. Located in the cutest little community of Leon Springs, near the original Rudy’s BBQ, their menu is a feast. Great starters, and I think I’ve had all their pizza and they’re all incredible! It’s a great place to finish after a day at nearby Six Flags Fiesta Texas!
Dog Friendly = Yes!
The Guenther House, 205 E. Guenther St., San Antonio Possibly my very favorite restaurants in San Antonio, the Guenther House is located in the 1920’s house and garden. From the riverwalk, it’s a fun scooter ride to the King William neighborhood for Sunday brunch!
Dog Friendly = Nope, only service animals
La Fonda’s on Main, 2415 N. Main Ave., San Antonio San Antonio’s oldest Mexican Restaurant, since 1932, it’s big, shaded patio is perfect for an afternoon or evening! The beef fajitas are always a winner, or if you’re a little more adventurous, try the duck tacos!
Dog Friendly = Yes
La Hacienda de Los Barrios, 18747 Redland Rd., San Antonio Currently, there are 4 Los Barrios restaurants, and while I love the food, this post is about the patio and La Hacienda definitely has the best patio IMO. I haven’t been to the newest location in Boerne since Los Barrios took over ownership, but I do love the property and can’t wait to visit!
Pet Friendly = Nope
Two Brothers BBQ Market, 12656 West Ave, San Antonio Big trees and good BBQ, just go early before they sell out.
Pet Friendly = Yes
