A hold-over from nomadic tribes in Asia, yurts have gained in popularity for travel enthusiast for their unique designs. While these yurts listed are not temporary in location or covered in animal skins, their beautiful locations make them a fun way to explore The Natural State of Arkansas.
To help with planning your trip, I’ve noted where each yurt is in reference to Texarkana, although there may be faster routes from your location.
State Parks
Daisy State Park, Kirby (1.5 hours from Texarkana) Located in the Ouachita Mountains just off the Little Missouri River, and near Crater of Diamonds State Park, the Yurt sits on the banks of Lake Greeson.
DeGray Lake State Park Resort, Bismark (1.5 hours from Texarkana)Enjoy the great outdoors in Arkansas Resort State Park, offering a golf course, swim beach, horseback riding, boat rentals and much more! If you can’t reserve a yurt, they also have a 96-room lodge overlooking the lake!
Lake Catherine State Park, Hot Springs (2 hours from Texarkana) Take a morning hike to Falls Creek Falls, relax on the beautiful lake and explore historic Hot Springs at this idyllic state park!
Lake Charles State Park, Powhatan (4 hours from Texarkana) The peaceful setting of this yurt, overlooking the lake, will make for an unforgettable weekend, just South of the Missiouri State Line and the Mark Twain National Forest.
Petit Jean State Park, Morrilton (3 hours from Texarkana) This scenic state park offers an incredible view of the 95-foot Cedar Falls, plus hiking trails overlooking the lake. During the Fall, the park is surrounded by color from the changing leaves!
