Bergheim Campground and Guadalupe River Outfitter, Boerne

For an amazing kayaking trip on the Guadalupe River, you have to visit Bergheim in Boerne! They have kayak rentals, and a 4-mile and 7-mile trip down the Guadalupe River, and it’s one of my favorites! The 7-mile takes you down to Guadalupe River State Park, which is just absolutely beautiful!

Along the river, there are some great places to stop, picnic and swim, as well as some nice riffles, Class I and even Class II rapids! It’s no where near as touristy as it is down in New Braunfels, and this is one of the only outfitters on this section of the river. It’s a great place to enjoy the quiet on the river.

It’s also just 25 minutes from most of the major attractions in San Antonio, including the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas!

Bergheim offers primitive camping by the river, or there is camping at the state park and hotels in Boerne.

The Guadalupe River State Park is also home to the Honey Creek State Natural Area, are they offer guided tours each Saturday morning.
