Cibolo Nature Center and Farm
Check out My Mommy Tips for making the most of your visit.
Know Before You Go
Parking and admission to the nature center is FREE.
The Nature Center is open 365 days a year, from dawn to dusk. The Visitor’s Center is open Monday – Saturday from 9-5 and Sundays from 1-5.
2. Donations
There is no charge to visit the Cibolo Nature Center, however it’s a terrific location and your donations are certainly appreciated!
3. Hiking Trails
There are 4 hiking trails at the Cibolo Nature Center, the marshland, woodlands, Cibolo Creek Trail and the Native Texas Prairie Trail, and they are all under a mile long.
We really enjoyed the Marshland Trail, and right after our last visit, we saw that someone has dumped a 3′ pet alligator. The alligator will be removed to a safer location, but it just goes to show that you should always keep your eyes open!
4. Visitor’s Center and Gift Shop
The Visitor’s Center has air conditioning, and that may be reason enough to visit after a hike on a summer morning, but they also have several animals on display, educational information, maps and very friendly volunteers!
5. Learning Center
The Cibolo Nature Center offers Summer and Spring Break camps for kids, and even programs for adults. Click HERE to visit their calendar.
6. Dinosaur Tracks
My oldest son LOVES dinosaurs, and I’ll admit the dinosaur tracks are the first thing that attracted me to Cibolo Nature Center!
You can’t actually see the tracks, which are in the creek a short distance away, but they do have these reproductions.
7. Picnics
The Cibolo Nature Center doesn’t sell food, but you can bring a picnic lunch to eat under one of the pretty shade trees!
Farmers Market
Saturdays from March through December, the Cibolo Nature Center is home to the Farmers Market. Not only can you purchase local produce, fresh eggs and honey, but also children’s activities, gardening classes and cooking demonstrations.
