I really think Guadalupe River State Park is one of the prettiest parks! The water is cool and clear, and perfect for relaxing!

1. Know Before You Go
There is absolutely NO ALCOHOL allowed in the Guadalupe River State Park. Not in your cooler, not in your tent.
The closest grocery store is about 15 minutes away.
2. Discovery Center
Learn about the animals that live in Guadalupe State Park from the friendly and knowledgeable volunteers that run the center!
3. Amphitheater
Check the park’s website for information upcoming events at the park’s amphitheater.

4. Picnic
The park doesn’t sell food, but it does offer one of the prettiest places for having a picnic by the river! These are day use sites, and come with a grill.
The park is busy during the summer, arrive early to get your pick of tables!
5. The Guadalupe River
The River runs through the park, and is perfect for swimming and cooling off. It’s not very deep at the swim area, but head up or down stream for deeper water.
There are a series of rapids along the 9 miles stretch of the river inside the park!
The park doesn’t rent tubes, but you can bring your own.
6. Kayaks
The park doesn’t rent kayaks, but you can bring your own.
Bergheim rents canoes, kayaks and tubes, and offers a shuttle service to Guadalupe River State Park. Click HERE to visit their website.
7. Camping
The park offers tent and RV camping, but not cabins.
8. Hiking Trails
There are 12 hiking trails in the park. We hiked the River Overlook Trail, which has, as the name implies, several places to stop and see the river below!
9. Honey Creek State Natural Area
Honey Creek State Natural Area tours are each Saturday from 9 to 11:30am.
10. Geocaching
The kids had a great time geocaching in the park! There are several hidden inside the park, as well as many outside the park along the road!
