Bear Tracks Putting Course at the Golf Center at the Highlands, Carrollton

My youngest son loves miniature golf, and we’ve played all over the state, through windmills, hippos squirting water, black lights and plaster dolphins.  While we really enjoy some of the cornier courses, my son loved the more challenging course we played at Horseshoe Bay Resort, where the only animals were all alive!

Since we came back, he’s been asking for more challenging putting courses, and on a cloudy Summer morning he and I headed out to Bear Tracks Putting Course to play!

Bear Tracks Putting Course is located at The Golf Center at the Highlands, which also offers a driving range, and lessons for both adults and kids, starting as young as 2!  The Center has trained some of the top youth players.

My son loved that it was an actual clubhouse.  I loved that we didn’t have to walk past 200 quarter-calling arcade games and sticky food stands!

Prices are average to what you’ll spend at any miniature golf course, Adults   $8.00, Teens $6.00 and Kids 2-10 are $3.50.  They accept credit cards, too!

I love how serious he took the game.

The course is lovely, and shaded in many places!

Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and water.  There was a water cooler at the 9th hole, and restrooms were conveniently located in the Clubhouse.  We made sure to go before we got started, although there were only a couple of other people playing at the same time.

There did seem to be some repairs being made to some spots on the course, so call and check before heading out.

My son definitely enjoyed it, and the longer and more challenging holes!  I liked that he was spending time studying the holes, and the angles he needs to make the shots!  He even did some math while adding up our scores!  Click HERE for a link for more good skills kids develop while playing miniature golf!

Think your child might be a golfer?  The Golf Center at the Highlands offers a Juniors Clinic each Saturday at 2pm for $20.
