The National Day of of the American Cowboy is July 22rd, 2017.  Here are some exciting and family focused ways to celebrate and explore this iconic Texas tradition!

The Fort Worth Stockyards Parade

Join the Fort Worth Herd on Saturday, July 22nd, with a parade following the 11:30 am cattle drive!  “Cow Camp” from 1:30 – 2:30pm allows children and adults to have hands on, interactive experiences with the equipment used during the Cattle Drive Era. Frontier Times Museum in Bandera, Texas,

Bandera has long been the self-proclaimed Cowboy Capital of the World! Saturday, July 22nd they will have a special induction into the Texas Heroes Hall of Honor!  Click HERE for more information on this event, and visiting the museum.

Come out and enjoy some Cowboy Fun in Bandera. Featuring 2017 Western Music Award Winner Mikki Daniels, Bandera Cattle Company Gunfighters, Little Wrangler’s Ranch Rodeo, Toe Tappin’ United Fiddler’s, Texas Heroes Hall of Honors, Native American Exhibits, Western Craftsmen, Picker’s Circle and Blacksmiths all on the Historic Court House lawn.  For more information, click HERE.

Events include Bullriding Mini Bulls, Team Roping, Tie Down Roping, Junior Barrels and of course Mutton Bustin’. $10 per person, under 5 FREE. Glen Rose National Day of the American Cowboy Celebration

Starting at 9am, Glen Rose will celebrate with a Parade, Demonstrations, Gun Fights, Poets, Musicians, Vendors, Food and More on the Historic Square!

The Texas Smokin Gun Mounted Shooters have a full schedule for this weekend at the Glen Rose Expo! Go to www.texassmokinguns.com to see the schedule. This event is free to the general public!
