We spent Father’s Day Weekend in Dallas, staying in the Dallas Design District at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, and swimming at their wonderful waterpark, Jade Waters! At night, we headed just a couple of blocks down the street to Bowlounge, a funky bowling alley that we all just LOVED!
Bowlounge is a bit complicated. The owners bought an old bowling alley, disassembled it and brought it to an old refurbished warehouse in the Design District, put it all back together and added new, electronic scoring, etc. It’s so cool!
They also sell your typical bowling alley food, but unlike most bowling alleys, it’s really good! I didn’t get pictures, but my kids loved the cheese fries, chicken and the wings were really good, coming from someone who doesn’t really care for wings!
Of course, there is also a full bar, and they have a huge selection of local IPAs, many from just down the street! On Fridays and Saturdays it’s 21 and over after 9pm.
And bowling, we bowled one game, which I’m kinda proud to say I won! While my 9 year old was disappointed they didn’t have bumpers, I was thrilled because he’s NINE!! Sure enough, about half way through the game, he threw his first strike! No more bumpers for us! Of course, I took tons of pictures of him, all of which were blurry!
They did have a special 5 lb. ball, but it’s locked away, and you have to ask nicely.
Really, every single picture of my family was blurry….
