Just across the street from Hancock Springs, Lampasas’ historic bathhouse and swimming pool that was built in the early 1900’s is Hart’s Firehouse BBQ. After an incredible day trip of swimming in the cold, spring-fed pool, then walking the paved trail that runs along Sulfur Creek, and playing in the playground, we were starving, and couldn’t wait to eat at Hart’s!
There are tables inside, but I loved the patio, especially since I was still damp from the pool!
Anyplace with a huge, pig shaped smoker has to be good!
We ordered a pound of chopped brisket, a 1/2 lb of smoked sausage, beans and macaroni and cheese. They give you all the white bread you can eat, too!
We also ordered a root beer float and a Dr Pepper float, but I swear my kids were drinking it while the girl was still walking to our table! No chance for a picture there!
They sell Dublin Root Beer, and several other brands, too!
Know Before You Go
You can pull up in the parking lot, call in your order and they will bring it out to you.
The restrooms are outside of the main building, but they are regular, clean restrooms, without a/c.
