We’ve reached that point of summer where all we want to do is get wet, and get in some shade! Wet ‘n’ Wild Splashtown in Spring kept us cool with great rides, slides, pools and more! Check out my Mommy Tips for having a terrific visit!
Thank You to Splashtown for inviting us out and providing us with some complimentary tickets to the waterpark for the day. I was not financially compensated for this review, and all opinions are my own.
Know Before You Go
Outside food and drinks are not allowed. A soft-sided cooler with bottled water is allowed.
Splashtown does not offer refunds or rainchecks for closures due to weather.
We picked up some coupons at a store in Houston, so there are some out there!
Parking is $10. They have a FREE drop off. While I hate paying for parking, I always feel my car is a little safer when in a paid parking lot.
We went on a Thursday, and while it was busy, it wasn’t uncomfortably crowded. I’m sure weekends are much busier! As always, get there early to get the best parking and good seating inside!
Ready for fun, but wait, first we have to put on sunscreen!
Ride the big waves in the wild wave pool! Free tubes are not offered in the wave pool, and you aren’t allowed to bring one from home, but you can rent a tube. I loved that this meant the wave pool wasn’t filled with empty tubes which interfere with swimming, and more importantly, being able to keep an eye on the kids playing in the water!
In addition to LOTS of waterslides, there were plenty of fun activities to keep the kids occupied in the Blue Lagoon Activity Pool!
They even had a Rope Swing! My kids love rope swings, but my camera doesn’t! This was the best I got of them swinging on it!
The 3-story Tree House was fun for all the kids!
There were plenty of fun things for them to turn, squirt, slide and stay wet! The big bucket on top hold 1,000 gallons of water! That’s as much as 33 bathtubs!
I loved drifting along in Paradise River, with plenty of shade from the tall trees all over the park!
There are 7 Big Thrill Rides at Splashtown, and there are height and weight requirements on all of them. For a quick check, please click HERE. There are also numerous other smaller slides and rides throughout the park, many with height/weight requirements, also.
There are even more things to younger kids to do at Wet ‘n’ Wild Jr.!
Smaller slides, like the Runaway Rapids, all had shorter lines, too!
Always a favorite with our family, the kids spent most of their time trying to surf, make wicked turns, and just showing off their “skills”!
There are chairs and some tables all over the park, but since it was out first time, we ended up over by the Flowrider, which was convenient since that was where the kids wanted to spend the most time. There was also some shade, and we were near the lockers, restrooms and food. However, next time I’ll head straight over to the picnic tables under the trees, located behind the Blue Lagoon Activity Pool!
Remember, you can’t bring in a cooler inside the park, but there are plenty of food options all over the park!
You can leave a cooler in your car, and have lunch there or at one of the picnic tables located in the parking lot.
If you just need to escape the sun for a bit, leave your car in the parking lot and take a walk to Zaxby’s or Rudy’s BBQ, located just outside the parking lot, and down I-45. It wouldn’t be a pleasant stroll, maybe not even safe one, but it’s possible.

Located just across Louetta Rd from Splashtown are two hotels, Best Western Plus Spring Inn & Suites and Comfort Inn. Unfortunately there isn’t an easy way to walk from the hotels to the waterpark, because the entrance to the waterpark is in the front, off I-45. But, if saving the $10 parking was really important to you, you could do it!
