While planning for our trip to Port Aransas, or any trip for that matter, I’m always checking out Groupon for good deals! I was thrilled when I found a 50% off groupon to the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, and that the expiration date was after our planned visit!
We had a great time playing at the museum, with our only complaint that I just hadn’t allowed enough time for us to really enjoy everything! But who knew the kids were going to want to spend 30 minutes on the light and shadow exhibit alone?!
The Museum is full of interesting and hands-on exhibits! Check out My Mommy Tips for making the most of your visit!
Know Before You Go
Parking is located right in front of the museum, and it’s FREE.
Food and drinks are not sold in the museum, but you can bring a picnic lunch to eat out by the large fountain.
2 and under are FREE.
Check Groupon. As of today, they are still running a Groupon for 2 people for $9 or 4 for $18! The Groupon expires 90 days from purchase, and like all Groupons, the amount paid never expires. Click HERE for the current link.
My seven-year-old and his friend loved playing on the Shipwrecked exhibit!
I love that there was so much local history, too! The things we learned while at the museum made our visit that much richer when we went to those actual locations!
The shell exhibit was also one we enjoyed, and were able to recall some of the names when we found them on the beach!
The General Store was also a fun exhibit. Live, costumed interpreters made it much more interesting!
The kids enjoyed the Paleontology exhibit, too!
Of course, they also loved the play areas! There is an inside area with LOTS of hands on play and an outside playground!
I really enjoyed walking through Xeriscape!

Corpus Christi Hooks Baseball is a great time for the entire family! We loved sitting in the outfield’s grassy seating! The kids played almost the entire game in the play areas, and of course, we ate more Whataburger, since the Hooks play at where else but Whataburger Field!
