We called the 5 Dancing Dunes in Port Aransas home for a week, during a visit to Port Aransas. The 5 cute cabins each have a seperate theme, and since we went with a LARGE group, the shared courtyard was perfect for us!
We absolutely loved it! Check out My Mommy Tips for making the most of your visit!
Know Before You Go
The 5 Dancing Dunes were very accessible to the shopping/entertainment districts of Port Aransas.
Located a short 3 blocks to the beach, we were close enough the big kids would ride their bikes back and forth!
The rooms are fully stocked.
They have 2 and 3 bedroom cabins available!
Pets are allowed for an additional charge.
While I think we existed solely on peanut butter sandwiches and salt water, each cabin had a full-working kitchen! One of our room mates cooked every meal!
One evening we borrowed a large stockpot, and had a shrimp boil! We picked up shrimp from Port A Seafood Company, which had some delicious shrimp, and sells their own shrimp boil and cocktail sauce! It was wonderful!
Since the courtyard isn’t open to the street, the kids could play around on the porch, in the courtyard and even play games of volleyball!
Ample outside seating around the porch made for great places to gather and begin and end our days!
The outside kitchen charcoal grills and a large fire ring for after dinner smores!
Each of the 5 cabins has been decorated in a cute theme! We stayed in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Cabin.
We loved the family that owned the 5 Dancing Dunes, too! They live on property, and were always quick to help us in any way they could! We felt like family, and that’s a great way to spend a vacation!
More to do in Port Aransas
We were in Port A while my daughter did a week long surf camp. Port Aransas was about a 20 minute drive each way to camp, and some days we stayed on the beach and watched, while other days we went around the island playing!

Padre Island NS Division of Sea Turtle Science and Recovery
Each summer, you can watch as baby sea turtle hatchlings are released onto the sand of Padre Island to walk their way to the water! It’s an unbelievable thing to watch, and definitely worth getting up a little early. For more information, click HERE.
Red Dragon Pirate Ship in Port Aransas was so much fun, for both my younger and older boy! Click HERE for more information!
