Waterside Sports in Granbury offers kayaks and stand up paddleboard rentals on Lake Granbury. We found them while visiting Granbury City Beach Park, and couldn’t wait to try out an SUP!

Know Before You Go
Life Jackets are provided, even for smaller children. Under 30 lbs. I would bring my own Type II life jacket.
Renting
We were able to just walk up and get an SUP on a weekday, but they do get busy on weekends. Reserve one in advance to be sure you have one available.
Waterside Sports accepts credit cards.
Be sure and ask for the 20% off student discount.
Learning
The staff at WS was great at taking us down to the water and showing us how to hold the paddle, turn in the water, and even get up and down!

There were eight of us, and instead of renting one for each, we took turns on one paddleboard! It was perfect, especially since we were all just learning how to do it. Once we had all had a turn, the kids just all climbed on and took it out into the lake! They were all able to just jump on and go, but I need to work on my sea legs!
We originally only did an hour rental, just to let everyone try it out, but the kids enjoyed it so much that we added on an hour, which was easy!
Granbury City Beach Park
Waterside Sports is located in Granbury City Beach Park, next to the Hilton Resort. Granbury City Beach Park is a fantastic place to spend a few hours, or an entire day! The FREE city park offers sand imported from S. Padre Island, a splash pad, a boardwalk and a big swim area! There are plenty of fun restaurants just up the street around the Hood County Courthouse square! We always try to visit on a Friday, when it’s less busy, and stay until evening when we head out to the Brazos Drive In!
Kayak Rentals
There are lots of fun places to explore around Lake Granbury by kayak! These open kayaks are easy to handle, too!
Bike Rentals
Waterside Sports also offers bike rentals for exploring downtown Granbury!
