Ellen’s Amusement Park, Cedar Hill

My husband and I are going to the Byron Nelson this week, but since my kids won’t be going, I decided to make it up to them with a trip to Ellen’s Amusement Park in Cedar Hill for a game of miniature golf!   In addition to a fun and whimsical course, Ellen’s also offers go-cart rides, batting cages, video games and even paint ball!

Know Before You Go

Ellen’s is an old school amusement park, with plenty of fun for the family.  Although it’s an older attraction, I was really pleased how clean and well-kept the place was!  The employees were quick to pick up any trash left out and very friendly!

MIniature Golf

Ellen’s has a really cute miniature golf course, with unique obstacles, some that move and two which have a lift for the ball!  My seven-year-old loved that!  Many of the holes have a Texas theme, and there are plenty of water hazards!

If your ball falls in the water hazard, just go ask for another ball!  My daughter tried to retrieve hers, and this is what happened!

This has to be the only Texas guitar miniature golf hole in the world!

To add to the fun of the game, we make a contest of each hole instead of the final score.  For example, whoever has the lowest score on a hole gets to pick dinner the next night, extra tv time, or a pass on dishes, etc.  We make a list and agree on it before going.  This way my youngest, who ended up with a final score of 103, still wins!  He even made a hole in one!

Go-Carts

My husband and I love racing go-carts, and while we enjoy taking the kids, it’s also one of of our favorite date night activities!

There is a 52″ height requirement to drive a go-cart, and 36″ to ride in a go-cart with a driver 16 or older.
