Klyde Warren Park is part of a fun day in the Dallas Arts District, which is also home to the Nasher Sculpture Garden, Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Crow Museum of Asian Art and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center!
Klyde Warren Park is a Deck Park, meaning it was built above the Woodall Rodgers Freeway! From the bridge, you can see the cars entering the tunnel below!
There are picnic tables everywhere at the park, or you can bring a blanket and use the many open spaces! Although the park was full of people, we were easily able to get a table and have our lunch.
Behind my family you can see the line of food trucks! They have EVERYTHING here, and they all take credit cards! Sweet!
And yes, it’s my family posing for pictures like this that makes me love candid shots.
Before the juice from their strawberries was dry on their chins, my kids rushed over to the Children’s Playground!
Although it was only 55 degrees outside, the warm sun gave the children a perfect excuse to strip off their shoes and socks, and wade in the splash zone!
You NEVER know WHO you might see in the park! My kids and I were so excited to see Darth Vader playing frisbee in the park, that we jumped up and ran over to say hello. Never mind that we left my husband sleeping alone in the children’s park….
Of course, the playground has lots of fun things to climb on and up, like the storytelling tree…..
You can borrow board games such as checkers, books and magazines
Although the park often has scheduled music and concerts, these guys put on an impromptu concert of their own! They even brought tamborines and other hand held musical instruments for kids to try and join in with them! We had so much fun listening!
There are great food trucks there every day!
We crossed Olive Street, and using my driver’s license as collateral, the kids were able to rent a variety of games, such as putting (golf), badminton, croquet, ping pong, horseshoes….
and foosball!
We stayed from 12:30 until well after 6pm, and even then, we were DRAGGING the kids away! This is such a fun park!
