Waco has become a destination for fun, and it’s easy to see why, there are so many things to do! Here are some of our favorite things!

Cameron Park, Emmons Cliff Dr., Waco The premier park in Waco, Cameron Park sits on the bluff above the Bosque and Brazos rivers, with wonderful hiking, bike trails, kayaking and paddleboarding in the river, the renowned Cameron Park Zoo, picnic tables, a splashpad, and a disc golf course. Don’t miss a hike to the top of Jacob’s Ladder for a view of the river!

Waco Mammoth National Monument, 6220 Steinbeck Bend Drive, Waco Mammoths once roamed North Texas and the Brazos River Valley. Found during an excavation was one of the most preserved sites of a herd of mammoths, buried during a flash flood. Kids will love the hands-on dig site, and learning about the other animals have been recovered during the guided tour.

Dr Pepper Museum, 300 South 5th St., Waco Learn about the oldest major soft drink company in the U.S., and how it began back in Waco in the 1880’s. Kids will love the daily science shows and soda shop! Here’s a tip and don’t miss the annual ghost tours on Halloween.

Waco Suspension Bridge Built in 1870, cowboys once had to pay per head to take cattle across the Brazos river as part of the Chisholm trail. Today it’s a historic visual reminder of Waco’s past, a pedestrian bridge and fun selfie spot!

Homestead Craft Village, 608 Dry Creek Rd., Waco Walk through the unique shops with hand-made items, a great restaurant and farm.

Magnolia Market at the Silos, 601 Webster Ave., Waco Shop, dine at the food trucks, and play in the big yard at this extremely popular venue from the Gaines of TV’s Fixer Upper.

Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, 100 Texas Ranger Trail, Waco Learn about the history of the West and the Texas Rangers who defended it.

Lake Waco Spend a day out on the lake or playing at one of the many lake parks.

Mayborn Museum, 1300 S. University Dr., Waco We love the fun, themed rooms, and interactive exhibits in this great museum on the Baylor campus!
