Racing around the track at Texas Motor Speedway is a dream come true for my husband, especially being alone in the car and no minimum speed! He absolutely loved his chance to drive! Here’s some of my pics and a few tips, too!

Know Before You Go
You can bring along friends and family to watch
I was able to get close to take pictures, and they even allowed them to pose for me! We also did this on the smaller cars out in Mesquite, and the track didn’t allow me to get close for pictures. I think it depends on the track.
Everyone was very nice and accommodating.
If you’re going to watch, there’s a lot of waiting around while they get suited up, attend their meeting and class, etc. Bring a chair, water, snacks, and sunscreen. There’s no shade so if it’s sunny you’re sitting in it. If possible, sign up for earlier sessions during warm weather.
Drivers should wear close-toed shoes.
At the event, they sell professional pictures and extra laps. And insurance.

It was really fun to watch. More fun to drive. They also do drive alongs, where you ride with one of their drivers. I didn’t drive or do a drive-a-long. I was just there to watch. I’d probably be out there going 35 mph. I think I would love a drive-a-long.
