Let’s face it, Covid-19 has ruined a lot of things for a lot of people. However, I can really appreciate how so many people and places have started thinking outside the box, like really outside the box, to keep working and moving on! From restaurants offering family meals to go to reservations for our favorite parks and venues, we have really masked up and kicked that traditional-thinking box of how living our lives works out the window! The San Antonio Zoo really kicked things up during the Summer, when they announced that they were opening for a drive through experience at the Zoo! And even though the Zoo is now open with limited capacity and reservations, they are once again getting creative and inclusive for our more at-risk population, with a Drive Thru Zoo Boo on Friday Nights!

Zoo Boo will open on Saturday, September 19th for this fun annual tradition, with a few modifications, such as limited capacity and online reservations. They will still have daily trick-or-treating, costume contest, pumpkin and craft stations, face painting, a hay maze and much more!
Drive Thru Zoo Boo will be on Friday evenings through October 30th, from 5-8pm, and reservations are required and will go quickly! Regular admission is $65/car, but for a limited time use the promo code DRIVE to save $15!
Admission to Zoo Boo is included in standard zoo admission, and FREE to San Antonio Zoo Members.

Visitors to the San Antonio Zoo, don’t miss their newest exhibit, Chupacabra!
San Antonio Zoo is thrilled to host a grand opening for a new species that has
never before been featured at a zoological facility, the Chupacabra. The Chupacabra is a
legendary creature in local folklore. The name comes from the animal’s reported habit of
attacking and drinking the blood of livestock, especially goats. Chupacabra can be translated as
“goat-sucker” from Chupa (to suck), and Cabra (goat). According to biologists and wildlife
management officials, the Chupacabra was an urban legend…or is it? At the grand opening of
the Chupacabra habitat, our culinary team will be on hand featuring a new drink called “The
Goat Sucker,” the drink will feature a set of plastic Chupacabra teeth and will come in both adult
cocktail and kid-friendly mocktail versions.
“We’re excited to educate the public and our visitors about the elusive and legendary
Chupacabra,” said Tim Morrow, President & CEO San Antonio Zoo “This new one of a kind
habitat is sure to spark both the imagination of what wildlife exists that we haven’t yet
discovered and the desire to conserve species, both known and unknown.”
