The 74th Annual Shamrock St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on Historic Route 66

It shouldn’t surprise you that the tiny town of Shamrock in the Texas Panhandle goes all out for St. Patrick’s Day!  In fact, the Shamrock celebration is the Official St. Patrick’s Day Celebration for the State of Texas!  The celebration will be held for 3 days, from March 13-15th, due to St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Tuesday this year!  Activities include a carnival, a 5K run, a beard contest, cornhole tournament, Legends Car Show, beauty pageant and of course, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday at 10:30am!

On the morning of February 12th, 2020 a huge fire completely destroyed the Shamrock Community Center, where many of the celebration events, as well as community events, are held.  Most of the decorations were stored there, but as happens in a place like Texas, people have come together to donate and make this year’s celebration bigger and better!
