Cedar Creek Café Bar and Grill, one of the Creek Group Restaurants, which includes Onion Creek Coffee and Canyon Creek, is one of my favorite casual restaurants in Houston! I love their big, outdoor patio!
Maybe they are trying to be more like the big outdoor restaurants in the Texas Hill Country, but located in Houston’s Heights neighborhood, it’s a great place to take the kids and just hang out for an afternoon!
The food is pretty straight-forward, burgers and sandwiches. They were having a crawfish boil on our last visit, and we really enjoyed it. I’d probably try to stay away from anything too fancy.
Grab a table and head to the bar to order your food.
My biggest complaint about Cedar Creek has always been that their patio wasn’t dog friendly, due to the city not the restaurant, but NOW they do!
It’s also one of my son’s favorite places to eat in Houston, because he loves the little creek, which is usually full of kids catching tadpoles and minnows, running up and down the banks and climbing on the tree that crosses the creek. Bring a little net or just get a cup from the bar!
