Sitting on one thousand acres on the southern end of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the newly opened Tex Plex park is an amusement park for real adrenaline junkies, regardless of age! Featuring one of the largest bike parks in country, UTV courses, spin boat rides, a motocross track, earth-movers, firing ranges and so much more, it’s going to be one of the best destinations in the state for outdoor fun! From push bike tracks for the youngest kids, to birthday parties and tons of family fun, you’re going to want to visit, and your kids are never going to want to leave!
I can’t thank Tex Plex enough for inviting us out for an incredible afternoon at their park, giving us a tour and a chance to find out what they are all about!! I was not financially compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own. My opinion is that you should go, it’s terrific! I actually think our visit is going to cost me quite a bit over the next few years, because my kids LOVED it, and already can’t wait to go back!
Tex Plex just opened it early June, and they have so much to do!!
The Bike Park offers courses for beginners to pros, and for all ages! You can bring your own bike, or rent one of theirs!
They offers private lessons and camps for kids just starting out! They even have classes for kids who can’t ride a bike yet! How cool is that?
They rent bikes, helmets and protective gear, or you can bring your own! Just show up and pay the admission fee anytime they are open!
They even have a push track for the littlest kids! Push bikes are such are better choice than training wheels for getting kids started riding!
Click HERE to read an informative article on why push bikes are so much better than training wheels!
And then there is this crazy thing! Joe, the professional instructor showed us how to perform a flip!
and land on the bag!
My husband, who is up for anything, couldn’t wait to try it out! That’s him!
My son was a little more hesitant, but Joe is so patient, and really took the time to show him how to do it, and assured him it was going to be awesome! He did it! I loved how he loved it, and the confidence he got from taking the risk! Way to go, Cole!
Joe offers How to Jump Clinics, too!
UTV
You’ll hear me talk again and again about the incredible experts that Tex Plex has brought in! Nathan is a Rally car racer, and took my kids each out on a ride on their UTV course!
He thought he could scare them, but they all loved it! Just watching him take some of the jumps and turns scared me!
Ride Alongs are SO much fun! Since I didn’t ride, it was great that they had an elevated, covered place where family and friends can watch!
They also have a motocross course for full size dirt bikes, as well as a smaller course for bikes under 85cc. They don’t rent but you can bring your own for a full day of fun!
They are also working on a 4X4 and jeep rock climbing course! Again, this will be to bring your own ride!
You can rent the pavilion for birthday parties and special events, and they have a food truck that is open daily until 5pm.
The pavilion is perfect for parties, and kids will love playing on the little excavators in the sand….
But for a real thrill, check out the Mini Excavator! My youngest two got a chance to operate them, and they loved it!
My 9 year old is…. unpredictable and I was a little worried about letting him drive this big machine, until the excavator operator, David, assured me that he would be in contact with him the entire time via a microphone…. and he has a remote kill switch for the excavator!
Two Thumbs Up for this! Children must be 8 years old to operate the Mini Excavator.
But Big Girls and Boys will love the full size ones! Tank and Otis are only for kids 14 and older!
There is also a covered stand to watch the excavators, and tables perfect for a birthday party!
Spin Boat
What was my favorite ride? Easily the Spin Boat!! It was so exciting to get to ride in this fun boat!
Why is it called a Spin Boat?
Because Rich makes the boat drift around corners and spins it! It’s such an incredible ride!
Tex Plex Park also has a beautiful event center!
Know Before You Go
I love that it’s SO family friendly!
Coolers and outside food and drinks are welcome, but need to be left at your car. No alcohol.
Don’t forget sunscreen!
Waivers must be signed at the office, and by parent/guardians for all minors.
