Spice Village, Waco

We found ourselves in Waco with a little bit of time to kill between a morning hike in Cameron Park and a visit to the Dr Pepper Museum in the afternoon, so we stopped at Spice Village in Waco’s Silo District. We were on the hunt for a flying pig, the traditional Christmas gift from my children to their grandmother, and the ecclectic collection of shops seemed the perfect place to search!

Know Before You Go

Parking is FREE.

Spice Village is open 7 days a week, while Magnolia Market is only open Monday-Saturday, if you are planning to visit both, and you should!

An assortment of different stores, you can find home accessories, clothing, candles and much more!  I was able to mark off a big chunk of my holiday shopping while we were there with cute, unique items!

There are plenty of children’s shops, too!  I did gasp loudly at the sound of breaking glass as I simultaneously realized by 8-year-old was not in sight. Thankfully he was just blocked from view by a stack of pillows, but I cringed as I recalled when he was three and picked up a glass ball from the bottom of a pyramid-stack of glass balls at Fort Worth’s National Cowgirl Museum’s gift shop!

While I felt Spice Village was desperately missing a comfortable little coffee bar, there are plenty of restaurants nearby, although nothing just screams “bring in the kids”, either.
