1.  Butterflies in the Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens lets you walk through their Butterfly exhibit, see beautiful butterflies and even watch butterfly releases!  The exhibit runs through April 10th.

Dallas Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum Texas

2. Enjoy the Flowers!  Dallas Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is open daily and showcases thousands of tulips and other early blooming flowers at their beautiful gardens along White Rock Lake!  Adjacent to the Arboretum is The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, which can best be described as a huge outdoor museum!  Pack a picnic for a relaxing lunch overlooking White Rock Lake!  I like to visit early and stop off at nearby Hypnotic Donuts for a chicken and biscuit or fun donut, but next door is the original Hypnotic Emporium, for a fun ice cream treat after the gardens!

Texas Tulips in Pilot Point is a huge tulip farm, where you can pay to spend the day among the tulips for photo ops and cut your own tulips.  Make a day out of it with a visit to nearby Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch, where you can see baby camels and even a zorse, a mix between a zebra and horse.

Tulipalooza in Waxahachie runs from March 18-27th and offers visitors the chance to come out for photo ops in the tulip fields and to cut their own tulips, along with fun festival activities such as live music, a petting zoo and children’s activities.  Your kids will love Farm Luck Soda Fountain in Downtown!

Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Texas

Texas Bluebonnet Trails, Ennis   While the forecast for our bluebonnet season isn’t promising because of our current drought, you can take a drive out to see the wildflowers along the mapped back roads around Ennis.  Two of our favorite spots are Bluebonnet Park off Hwy 287, and Meadow View Park overlooking Bardwell Lake.  Arrive early for the best pictures with the lake in the background.  Maps are available online or at the Ennis Visitors Center, and don’t miss the Ennis Bluebonnet Festival on April 8-10th.  Be sure to check out the Diamond Saddle in Downtown, which is opening soon and offering fun Character Dining Experiences for the whole family!
