Prost! to the 14 Best Oktoberfest Festivals in Texas 2022

It may still be in the 90’s but a sure way to know it’s Fall in Texas is Oktoberfest!  It’s not hard to find Texas’ German roots almost anywhere you look in the state, and Oktoberfest is surely one of the best ways to celebrate!  These surprisingly family-friendly festivals run from September through November, and you’ll find plenty of bier and brats, as well as German music, stein hoisting competitions, keg rolls and even kids activities!  So brush up on your chicken dance and find a Celebration or two near you!

September 15-18 Addison Oktoberfest  The food is as good as the fun at this festival that kicks off the Bier Season!  An authentic recreation of the Munich Oktoberfest, this event features almost 30 hours of continuous family-oriented entertainment. Serving special “Oktoberfest” Bier along with incredible German culinary fare, the festival also includes our Marktplatz, music, and kid-friendly options like the karneval, midway games and much more.

September 23-25  Oktoberfest Fort Worth at Panther Island Pavilion.  Achtung, y’all! Oktoberfest Fort Worth is a Munich-style celebration so authentic you’ll forget you’re
in Texas. Guests will enjoy traditional German food, music, dancing and much more. Lederhosen approved and the Oktoberfest Midway with rides the whole family will enjoy. The festival kicks off with Thursday’s ceremonial ‘Tapping of the Kegs’ and the fun continues through Saturday with dachshund races, German style competitions, the YP Oktoberfest Olympics, traditional German vendors, the Oktoberfest Run and Ride and more.

October 1, 2021  Oktoberfest Dallas at White Rock Lake is the premier Oktoberfest in Dallas. This family friendly event brings thousands of people across Dallas – Fort Worth for the good food, good beer and good times, and features some of the best local bands, plenty of fun for the kids, and delicious restaurant offerings from brats to ice cream.

October 1st Oktoberfest on the Square in LaGrange with over 100 different varieties of craft beer,  wineries, authentic German cuisine, and live music, and children’s activities you can’t afford to miss out! Ticket prices include 12 samples of craft beer or wine along with a commemorative beer mug or wine glass.  Underneath the event tents, you will find live music along with authentic German cuisine of sausage and pork schnitzel.

October 1-3 Oktoberfest Muenster  The North Texas town invites you to join them the first weekend in October for a unique annual celebration rich in German culture and full of Texas fun! Located in the beautiful town of Muenster, Texas!  Here you’ll enjoy good food, music, dancing, exciting carnival rides and games, German, Texan and domestic beer, special events, a fun run,  and the finest in German Style Entertainment.  It all happens at Oktoberfest!

October   Beethoven Maennerchor in San Antonio.  Everyday is Oktoberfest at this fun venue in San Antonio!  

September 30th – October 2 Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg is held in Downtown on MarktPlatz.  The 42nd Oktoberfest celebrates its German heritage with Oompah at its best. German music, food and drink, artisans, children’s area and family fun.

October 7 – 9 Granbury Oktoberfest at Ketzler’s German Restaurants and Beirgarten.

October 15th Kilgore Oktoberfest   Historic Downtown Kilgore invites you for an East Texas wunderbar experience!  There will be a kid’s zone, food vendors, artisan vendors, lots of competitions and entertainment from the Bier Nutz and The Social Club.  Come dressed for the occasion in a dirndl or lederhosen and enter the Best Dressed competition!

October 20th, 2023   Oktoberfest Houston  Unfortunately, Oktoberfest Houston was cancelled for 2022. This is Houston’s German-themed beer festival held at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou!

October 21-22nd Galveston Oktoberfest  This fun, family weekend will feature: continuous live entertainment on 2 stages, an expanded menu of authentic German food and libations, Cake Wheel, shopping for fine arts, crafts and gifts in the historic 1860 Lyceum, a lively auction, new and exciting fun, family children’s activities, and much more.

October 22nd Surftoberfest in Corpus Christi’s coastal spin on Oktoberfest, Surftoberfest! A celebration rich in German culture and full of Gulf Coast fun!

November First 2 Weekends in November  Wurstfest in New Braunfels is a unique annual celebration rich in German culture and full of Texas fun! Located near the headwaters of the beautiful Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas!  Here you’ll enjoy good food, music, dancing, exciting carnival rides and games, German, Texan and domestic beer, special events and the finest in Alpine and Bavarian Style Entertainment.  It all happens at Wurstfest! The best ten days in sausage history.
