Special Events
The Mayor’s Holiday Spectacular Dec. 3rd is the biggest holiday event in Houston! An incredible night with lights, music and fun for everyone!
Ice Skating
Outdoor Ice Skating at Discovery Green Park Twirl beneath the lights at this fun outdoor ice skating rink in Downtown Houston’s Premier Park, open from November 11th – January 29, with select Skating With Santa Opportunities and cheap Skate Nights!
Ice at the Galleria is a fun indoor ice skating rink around the Christmas tree! Don’t miss their Nutcracker performances, either!
Holiday Parades
The 73rd Annual Houston Thanksgiving Parade Get prepared for one of the biggest and the best! On Nov. 24th at 9am the parade lines the streets of Downtown, covering over 20 city blocks!
Tomball’s Miracle on Main Street Holiday Parade, Nov. 19th The 57th Annual Parade lights up downtown Tomball! Make a full day of it and stop for lunch at one of our favorites, Every-Bellies, and don’t miss checking out the Tomball Eagles, a nesting pair of bald eagles that are very easy to spot from the Target parking lot!
Walk Thru Holiday Light Displays
Lightscape at Houston Botanic Garden, Nov. 18 – Jan. 1 Lightscape is back at the Houston Botanic Garden with amazing walk-through light displays! Lightscape is offered at gardens around the country and worldwide, and is also at the San Antonio Botanical Garden and Fort Worth Botanic Garden! It is an amazing walk-thru light display not to be missed!
The Christmas Train at Victory Camp in Alvin is one of the most unique light displays!
The Light Park, Spring We loved this fun light display, set in the parking area of Hurricane Harbor in Spring! While in Spring, don’t miss how Old Town Spring lights up for the Holidays! The Light Park also has shows in Arlington, San Antonio and Katy!
The Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens and Ice Land in Galveston runs from November 19th – January 7th.
Magical Winter Lights, Baytown This remains one of my favorite light displays!
Drive Thru
Galaxy Lights at Space Center Houston is a drive-thru light experience, running from November 12th – January 1st!
The Houston Zoo Presents Zoo Lights from November 18th – January 9th!
Christmas Tree Farm
Dewberry Farms Christmas Tree Farm, Brookshire Enjoy a day out on the farm, and pick out a fresh tree!
Holiday Shows
The Nutcracker at the Wortham Center performed by the Houston Ballet is a traditional favorite!
