What’s New in 2021 at Fright Fest Six Flag’s Fiesta Texas in San Antonio

Fright Fest at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio

Fright Fest is back to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and it’s while some of our favorites are gone, and not forgotten, there are some new thrills and chills and great entertainment for 2021!

During the day, the park is set for Fall Fun with Autumn treats like caramel apples, live music shows, and all the fun you expect at Fiesta, Texas with rides and activities, perfect for the whole family.

Friday and Saturday Nights starting at 7pm, the lights go down and things will get scary! The ghost and ghouls are released, a thick fog rolls out across the park, which is conveniently trapped by the old quarry walls that Fiesta Texas is contained within, making for a dazzling display of lights across the park!

While some of the favorite, outdoor haunted exhibits are still in place, there will be new, outdoor haunted area. All of the scare zones are located outside for Covid-19 precautions.

If you’ve been to Six Flag’s Fiesta Texas Fright Fest before, you’ll be as bummed as we were to learn that for 2021 all haunted houses now require an additional Fright Pass, just like Six Flags Over Texas. We all knew the days of free haunted houses at Fiesta weren’t going to last forever, but we’ll miss our money all the same!

I also felt like some of the best scares came from the bridge covered in fog, and 2021 definitely needs more fog! After the events that happened at SFOT in Arlington on September 11th, with a massive fight breaking out, I do understand visibility being a bid factor, though!

We love the music shows at Six Flags Fiesta Texas during Halloween, and they’re back and better than ever for 2021, including the Frightful Finale each evening!

We absolutely LOVED Dr. Diabolical’s Monster Mash Bash! Stay afterwards for the Fireworks Finale, which does not disappoint! It really gets better every year!

Here’s my tip and move to the lawn, as close to the front (towards the quarry walls) as you can get for the finale. We were seated about halfway up the lawn and couldn’t see all the show. Those in the back probably had no idea what was going on up front! But all the seats are great for the fireworks show!

Also, right before the Finale, they have a nice reveal for the new roller coaster in 2022! Steam Punk is alive and well at Fiesta Texas!

Things to do in San Antonio

Play

The San Antonio Riverwalk always has so many fun things to do!  Great restaurants, shopping and take a cruise on Rio San Antonio River Cruises!

Take a walk through San Antonio’s Japanese Tea Gardens!  It’s FREE and absolutely beautiful!

The Historic Pearl District in San Antonio has a weekend market, restaurants, live music and much more!

Eat

My kids love Freddy’s and the one right across the street is a favorite and we usually stop there before or after our visit.  Just down I-10 is the ORIGINAL Rudy’s BBQ in Leon Springs, and definitely our favorite!

Stay

La Cantera Resort and Spa is one of our favorite places to stay in the area!  You’re just minutes from Six Flags Fiesta Texas, but there’s so much to do at the resort that you might never want to leave!  The Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites on University Heights is our current go-to when visiting Six Flags and just need a clean and comfortable place to sleep!
