Japanese Fall Maple Festival at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens
Travel across the world this weekend to the Japanese Fall Maple Festival at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens! The 2019 Festival will be bigger and better than ever! On November 23rd and 24th, the Gardens celebrate Fall with fun activities for the entire family! Take a tour of the gardens as the Maples display their beautiful Fall colors, enjoy spectacular performances from Taiko Drummers, GK Sugai Swordsmen, Traditional Sakura Dancers, and Tai Chi Performers! Children will delight to traditional Japanese games, face painting, kimono dress up and so much more!
The Fort Worth Bonsai Society will have starter Bonsai trees for sale.
Of course, there will be vendors and Japanese foods, as well as Food Trucks.
While many of the events for the weekend are located outside of the Japanese Gardens, the Gardens themselves are worth the visit! The 7.5 acre garden consist of winding paths and bridges through bamboo, Japanese maples, magnolias and cherry trees, accented by ponds filled with Koi fish. It’s a beautiful place for quiet reflection during the year. Docent tours are offered year round, and there is a ceremonial Japanese Tea hosted once a month. While the Maples highlight the Fall Festival, the annual Spring Festival is full of color, as the Cherry Trees, Maples and everything else in the garden is in Full Bloom!
