After Dark in the Park at River Legacy, Arlington
For one weekend each October, the trails at River Legacy Park’s Living Science Center are lit up for After Dark in the Park! This fun, not spooky, Halloween-themed event is geared for children ages 2-10, and offers guest a view of the Living Science Center at night, as well as games, storytelling, learning exhibits and, our family favorite, the hayrides!
After Dark in the Park is a great way to kick-off your October! Kids will love the games and crafts, all included in admission! Don’t miss the animal encounters, either!
The Hayrides from the parking lot are the VERY best, so here’s a tip. Park as far away as you can to get the most of your ride!
Many of their activities are science and nature related! One of our favorite events is the Spider Walk, where they taught us how to find spiders in the dark with a flashlight, from a distance!
Know Before You Go
Tickets are sold at the gate and for a discount at the center. They can also be purchased online. Tickets are non-refundable, so I suggest purchasing them at the gate.
Come in costume!
They serve concession-stand type food, drinks and sweets.
Bring cash for a few activities, but most are included in the price of admission.
Bring a wagon or stroller! The kids make so many crafts, etc that it’s hard to carry it all! They will help you with the wagon on the hayrides!
