From quiet mornings on the lake to great watersports, there is something for everyone on Cedar Creek Lake!  Located just an hour southeast of Dallas, the lake is the perfect weekend escape for families looking to unplug and recharge!  Check out the many listings for lake house rentals available on the lake, buy a bag of groceries or visit some of the good restaurants on the lake!  You’ll find that many of the waterfront lake houses have docks, so you can bring your own boat or rent one a the marina for a few hours of fun on the lake!

Cedar Creek Lake, which is owned by Tarrant Regional Water District, was completed in 1965.  It is fed by both Cedar Creek and King’s Creek, with the dam located at the Southeast end of the lake, which runs into the nearby Trinity River.

Stay

For years we would spend every 4th of July at Cedar Creek Lake, first camping, then sleeping in the boat cabin, and finally for the last couple of years we rented a lake house.  Cedar Creek Lake is a great lakehouse lake, with waterfront homes and docks the kids can jump off!

VRBO has a great listing of vacation rentals, over 100, with many on the lake.

While there is not a state park on the lake, Purtis Creek State Park is a short drive away, and sits on it’s own 355 acre lake, great for fishing!
