Panther Island Pavilion, Fort Worth

Panther Island and the Trinity Trails in Fort Worth are a Summer Destination for outdoor fun seekers! Panther Island offers a neat, sandy beach to play, and access to the Trinity River for tubing, or other water recreation! Bring your own tubes, kayaks and SUP stand up paddleboards or you can rent there. Bikes are also available to rent for riding on the trails along the river.

Know Before You Go

No outside coolers

Credit Cards are accepted for just about everything!

Bring!  Water shoes, sunscreen, chairs or blanket.  Sand toys for the kids!

BYOT – Bring your own tube, kayak, paddleboard, kiddie float, but you will need to inflate it yourself.

Small dry bag for keys, phone, etc.  I really like Sealine and Sea to Summit.  I’ve had some really bad experiences with off-name bags.

Free Parking is available at the park.

Panther Island PavilionDogs

Panther Island is REALLY dog friendly, and leashed dogs are always allowed. Don’t forget a couple little bags, and always pick up after them.

All events are dog-friendly, but your pup must wear a doggy life jacket.  Bring your own or rent one from Backwood Sports!

Backwoods Paddlesports

You can rent a kayak, canoe or SUP paddleboard right on the river at Backwood Paddlesports!  They rent by the hour, with a reduced rate for longer use.  They have life jackets, but I’d suggest bringing your own for your children for a snug fit.

During the Spring and Fall, they are open Friday – Sunday, and 6 Days a Week during from Memorial Day – Labor Day, from 9am – 7pm.

Click HERE for pricing and specials, including 15% off for Boy Scouts!

Backwood Retail, located in Fort Worth on 7th Street, sells canoes, kayaks, SUPs and equipment.  Click HERE to visit their website.RIMG0237

Sunday Fundays

Admission is FREE, and you can rent tubes, SUPs, pedalboats, and yoga!  They also have the Dog House Food Truck (try the Shepherd, with spicy cream cheese, candied jalapenos and potato chips) and fun!

Bring your own tube, or rent one for only $5.00.

RIMG0218.JPGRockin’ the River

Our first Rockin’ the River, which was also their VERY FIRST ONE, was tons of fun, however it was the ONLY Rockin’ the River we ever attended with our kids!  It’s not really a bad atmosphere for kids, it’s just more fun without them.  Little kids aren’t allowed in the water, either, which makes sense because the water is crowded and people are drinking!

Rockin’ the River is select Saturday nights during the summer, followed by fireworks!

Fort Worth’s Fourth

The Trinity is where you go to celebrate the 4th of July, and it is crazy fun and crowded!  Kids have bounce houses and other fun activities, and we all loved the flyboard show!  They have great live music and after the sun goes down an incredible fireworks show!

Get there early for the best seating, parking, everything!

RIMG0232Things To Do in Fort Worth

Play

End your fun day on the river by watching a great movie at the Coyote Drive In, just minutes away from PIP!  We love their movies, and nothing says summer like a drive in!

Eat

Nothing gives you an appetite like being on the water, and we usually come off the river a little (lot) wet and dirty.  Uncle Julios is our go-to place!  We can sit on the patio and have a great dinner.

Stay

We love the Fort Worth Omni!  Click HERE to read why!
