National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, Fort Worth

We had a MARATHON of a day in Fort Worth’s cultural district, visiting the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, then walking next door to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, then staying for the Battle of the Burger!

My kids, two of which are boys, LOVE the National Cowgirl Museum!  Not only is there amazing art work, but many interactive exhibits!

Hands down, the bucking bronco ride is their favorite!  However, the museum doesn’t allow photography inside their galleries, so I was only able to get a picture of this amazing horse and rider crashing through the ceiling!

The museum offers many events throughout the year.  My daughter attended their Camp Wildlife for a couple of years, held in conjunction with the annual Extreme Mustang Makeover.

They also a BIG supporters of Girl Scouts!  As a GS, my daughter has attended numerous badge workshops here, and enjoyed them all.  The museum even has it’s own badge, which is a great opportunity for visiting troops from other councils!  Click HERE to visit their GS programs page for more information!

Although we all visited on this trip, I once threatened my youngest to NEVER bring him back!  During one visit, we were all visiting their gift shop, which is INCREDIBLE, especially if you LOVE horses like we do!  My little guy was only four at the time, and I had a FIRM grasp of his hand, because there are lots of breakables in the gift shop, along with lots of toys.  We were standing at the counter paying for some pictures, and I released his hand for only a moment to hand her my credit card….. and I hear glass breaking next to me!

I was terrified to turn around and see what HE had broken!  There was a display of glass balls, stacked up in a pyramid, and my SWEET ANGEL had reached over and removed one of the bottom balls, which sent the other ones crashing to the floor!

Yeah, it was an expensive day at the museum!

The fountains were going the entire time, and the kids were having a blast playing in them!
